Abstract:

The present study tested a model consisting precedents of workplace deviance. In this model TRUSTworthiness and TRUST propensity were independent variables, workplace deviance was dependent variable, and INTERPERSONAL TRUST was mediator. Research design was correlation through structural equation modeling (SEM) and the sample consisted of 325 employees of Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) who were selected by stratified random sampling method. Of this sample, 78 per cent were men and average age was 35 years. Participants of this study completed TRUSTworthiness Scale (Jarvepaa, et al., 1998), TRUST Propensity Questionnaire (Mayer & Davis, 1999), INTERPERSONAL TRUST Questionnaire (Schoorman & Barlinger, 2006) and Workplace Deviance Questionnaire (Bennett & Robinson, 2000). Structural equation modeling (SEM) through AMOS-18 and SPSS-18 software packages was used for data analysis. In addition, Preacher and Hayes’ SPSS Macro program was used for testing mediation. The results showed that the proposed model fit the data properly. The results also supported the negative indirect effect of TRUSTworthiness and TRUST propensity on workplace deviance through INTERPERSONAL TRUST. This study underscores the practical benefits of fostering TRUST in the workplace. Considering the importance of TRUST to key organizational outcomes, for instance workplace deviance, the results can provide a guide for increasing TRUST in organizations.

Abstract:

Introduction: This research studies the impact of economic behaviors on TRUST (and disTRUST) as a socio-cultural indicator of the behavior of the participants of an economic partnership. It also tries to analyze the role of the time variable in changing INTERPERSONAL TRUST. There are series of conventions, rules, and habits within a society that shape economic transactions and facilitate the maintenance of TRUST. These series are vital for the boom of commodity exchanges or the emergence of co-operatives. The relation between social context and economic transactions is multi-layered and multifaceted and is a key factor in explaining the economic dynamics of a region or country. Also, economics consider the contract as the business commitment of individuals and organizations to each other; however, without internal and external control restrictions, commercial contracts do not have full operational guarantees. Hence, theorists believe that strong TRUST is one of the best alternatives to costly contracts. TRUST can also be known as a backup and even a strong alternative to the law, and also as a contract monitoring tool. TRUST is influenced by various variables, including the time factor. Scientists believe that TRUST changes in frequent interactions over time and place. The main question of this research is how INTERPERSONAL economic behaviors ultimately lead to the breakdown of business and economic treaties. Also, how do the unregistered relationships, especially INTERPERSONAL TRUST, disTRUST, and interest-seeking, manifest themselves in the behavior of businessmen? And what is the role of time in TRUST changes? In this research, the TRUST had been separated on 3 levels based on Lewicki and Bunker’ s approach. First, Calculus-based TRUST (CBT) that operates on cost-benefit dichotomy. As long as the cost of cutting off economic activities is more than short-term benefits, the contract may be ongoing. Second, knowledge-based TRUST (KBT) is based on the ability to understand others to predict their behavior. Even if prediction conditions are not available at times, repetitive interactions and multiple relationships will increase the perception of individuals from the other side. Third, identification-based TRUST (IBT) that is based on increasing the identification of the other side. Accordingly, individuals are inclined to recognize the desires, intentions, and values of each other because they know that they have common interests and it is very important in maintaining interaction and communication to identify whether the interests of individuals are protected by the other side. In addition to the levels laid out in the Lewicki and Bunker’ s theory, affection-based TRUST (ABT) was also presented by McAllister which was historically ignored by researchers. McAllister claims anger as an example and believes that, as a rule, anger is one of the main emotional experiences arises in the process of breaking TRUST. Therefore, in all interactions, including economic interactions, emotional connections are found in INTERPERSONAL relationships...

Background and Aim: This study tends to investigate the reasons of INTERPERSONAL TRUST and the results of TRUST in online scientific social networks. Methods: The applied Research has been used cluster sampling to collect data. The study population consisted of Shiraz university and Persian Gulf university faculties. A sampling of 269 person was determined by Morgan table according to whole population (900 person). In order to gathering data it was used Wu, Chen and Chang (2010) questionnaire. SPSS version 21 was used to analyze data. Results: Results showed that Among the reasons that create TRUST among scientific social networks members, Satisfaction (Mean score= 27. 2 and T score= 53. /6) is the most effective. According to the obtained correlation coefficient between two variables commitment and TRUST (0. 798), commitment is the result of TRUST in online scientific social networks. Furthermore, the correlation coefficient between two variables Stickiness and TRUST (0. 744) showed that the stickiness is the results of TRUST between members of online scientific social networks. Conclusion. Due to high impact of satisfaction on creating TRUST between members of online scientific social networks, we should create consent and satisfaction of members, in order to provide a place that researchers think these networks are good places to present their specialized knowledge and experience and they can exchange their information and knowledge.

Abstract:

Background: INTERPERSONAL TRUST is a kind of organizational TRUST that its decline or reduction causes negative consequences in organization. In this regard, this study was aimed to examine INTERPERSONAL TRUST outcomes and its dynamics in organization through a structural equation modeling.Method: Research method of this study is correlation. Population of study includes all employees of Dezful public organizations. 365 members of sample were selected randomly and then questionnaires related to research variables were prepared and after ensuring their reliability and content validity were distributed. In order to test the hypotheses, first of all, measurement models were estimated and tested. Finally, data were fitted to structural equation. Results: It was discovered that the direct paths of vertical INTERPERSONAL TRUST to innovative behavior, organizational identity, and work engagement, and also its indirect paths to organizational commitment and job satisfaction are significantly positive (a=0.05). Second, the horizontal INTERPERSONAL TRUST has a significant positive impact on work engagement and job satisfaction directly, and an indirectly positive impact on organizational commitment. Third, despite the directly organizational commitment impact on organizational citizenship behavior, horizontal INTERPERSONAL TRUST has no significant effect on these behaviors. Also, there is a meaningful positive relationship between vertical and horizontal TRUST.Conclusion: It is expected that both types of INTERPERSONAL TRUST will be improved through reinforcing their distinct antecedents and then their direct and indirect outcomes like job satisfaction, job engagement, organizational commitment, organizational identification, and innovative behavior be obtained.

Abstract:

Virtual communities on the Internet, allows users to communicate, exchange information and share knowledge in order to meet their needs. Many of the virtual communities failed due to members’ lack of willingness to share knowledge with each other. The main purpose of this research is to focus on the factors affecting INTERPERSONAL TRUST and investigate the effects of INTERPERSONAL TRUST on intention to knowledge sharing in virtual communities. Increase in INTERPERSONAL TRUST can increase motivation of virtual members in order to increase knowledge sharing. So, we need to understand the factors affecting INTERPERSONAL TRUST and knowledge sharing behavior of members. Based on the extensive literature review, a questionnaire-based survey was conducted and the experimental data were collected from 27 communities. So in this study, the effect of different factors, on INTERPERSONAL TRUST and impact of INTERPERSONAL TRUST on knowledge sharing intention was evaluated between 336 virtual community members. Data were analyzed using structured equation modeling, in order to test the measurement model using confirmatory factor analysis, and to test the structural model. Results indicated that INTERPERSONAL TRUST has a significant impact on intend to share knowledge among users of virtual communities and factors including ability, benevolence, integrity, predictability, competence, shared vision, knowledge growth, and Create personal connections have a positive influence on INTERPERSONAL TRUST. This study may help managers to manage virtual communities and promote the factors affecting INTERPERSONAL TRUST and stimulate the sharing of knowledge.
